CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
“Clinical psychologists are experts in mental health. They have undertaken highly specialised training in the diagnosis and psychological treatment of mental, behavioural and emotional disorders. Clinical psychology is a science-based profession which integrates theory and clinical practice to understand, prevent, and relieve psychologically based distress or dysfunction” – The Australian Clinical Psychology Association.
I am a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Psychology Board of Australia/ Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA). I provide individual assessment and therapy for adolescents and adults experiencing a broad range of acute, chronic and complex mental health and relationship issues.
Evidence-based treatment interventions include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), the Flash Technique, and EMDR.
I am an EMDRAA accredited Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner.
Aside from private practice, I also practice within a multidisciplinary team at the Next Step Drug and Alcohol Service (Mental Health Commission), where I facilitate inpatient psychoeducation groups and deliver individual therapy to outpatient clients.
I have presented my research findings of pain processing as a finalist at the Emerging Researchers Awards (Sports Medicine Australia, 2015) as well as my translational research into Social Anxiety (AACBT National Conference, 2019). A THERAPEUTIC ALLIANCE
I believe in an empathic therapeutic relationship as a central element to facilitating change; working collaboratively with clients to integrate a variety of evidence-based practices to suit each individual and their presenting concerns. My therapeutic stance is informed by explorative guidance in aiding clients to attain a more in-depth insight into the nature and roots of their problems, reduce their negative symptoms, grow their innate strengths, and live a more meaningful life.

REFERRALS, REBATES AND FEES
REFERRALS
You do not need a referral to see a psychologist, however, if you talk to your GP about it and if applicable, they will complete a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) under the Better Access initiative. This will enable you to receive a Medicare rebate of $128.40 on your sessions for up to 10 sessions a year (currently increased by an additional 10 sessions during the pandemic) or 42 sessions for eating disorders.

Medicare Easyclaim/EFTPOS and Private Health Fund rebates are available on-site, so you can receive your rebate at the time of your appointment.

Our service is not a bulk billing practice, however, reduced fees may be applicable in some cases.

Initial consult (80 mins) and regular consultation (50 mins) is $200.00 per session or $150.00 for students.

The Medicare rebate for clients on a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is $128.40
-
A limited number of appointments are set aside for Concession Card holders and Health Care cardholders who have obtained a MHCP and will be ‘bulk billed’ to Medicare Australia. This is done after the session using your Medicare Card to process the Claim. There is no out of pocket expense.
